Small Business Websites & Intellectual Property – A Beginners Guide
Event on 2014-03-24 17:30:00
Every website contains intellectual property – some of which will be owned by your small business.
This seminar is aimed at small business owners and will help you to understand more about these valuable business assets including ownership, protection and exploitation issues. We will work through a typical website to show, with practical examples, who owns what – and what IP issues might be lurking behind your site.
The topics covered include:
The basics of copyright and trade marks
What can be protected and how
What you can and can’t do with other people’s intellectual property
Why it pays to pay your licences
Who owns what when you get the designers on board
Ways to exploit your intellectual property
The ‘Share Culture’ in an intellectual property world
We will also be holding a Q&A session to help you with your website IP issues.
